Union for Justice Foundation

The Union for Justice is an independent, non-profit human rights organization established in late 2024 in the city of London by a group of international lawyers, legal experts, and human rights activists dedicated to supporting and advocating for prisoners, as well as combating torture through legal oversight, monitoring, and solidarity campaigns. Its overarching goal is to uphold the rule of law and promote the protection and respect of human rights.

The Union for Justice is supported by numerous supporters and volunteers; individuals who share the Foundation’s objectives, participate in its activities, and contribute to its mission.

About the Foundation

The Union for Justice Foundation is a non-governmental, independent organization working in the fields of human rights and humanitarian assistance. It strives to promote social justice and empower marginalized groups in society. The Foundation was established to safeguard fundamental rights and to provide necessary support to the most vulnerable communities, including refugees, women, and children, through legal and humanitarian services that foster a more just and equitable society.

Through a variety of programs and initiatives, the Foundation works to:

Protect Human Rights: By offering legal consultations, defending civil and political rights, and highlighting human rights violations.
Support Vulnerable Groups: Through humanitarian aid and awareness programs aimed at improving living conditions for marginalized communities.
Raise Awareness and Provide Education: By organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance public awareness of justice and human rights issues.
Foster Collaboration and Partnerships: By working alongside local and international organizations to coordinate efforts and amplify the impact of humanitarian and legal initiatives.

The Foundation firmly believes that justice and equality are the cornerstones of a society characterized by peace and mutual respect. Hence, it is committed to achieving positive, lasting change in individuals’ lives and within communities. By adopting comprehensive and integrated strategies, the Union for Justice Foundation aims to create an environment where human rights and fundamental freedoms are guaranteed for all, placing special emphasis on solidarity and peaceful coexistence.

The Union for Justice is a member of the Network of International Legal Organizations, the Human Rights Organizations Council, the Global Network Against Torture, the Coalition for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms, the International Coalition Against Isolation Policies, and other local, regional, and international coalitions.

The Union for Justice Foundation adheres to the universality of human rights grounded in the paramount respect for human dignity and the indivisible nature of rights, as affirmed by international conventions and treaties. It also firmly believes in the importance of building a free, democratic society governed by justice, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights within the framework of the right to self-determination.

Objectives of the Union for Justice

1. Oppose Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
2. Oppose Arbitrary Detention and ensure fair and impartial trials.
3. Support and Advocate for Individuals Detained for Their Views, with a particular focus on political prisoners, providing them with moral, legal, and media backing.
4. Contribute to the Enactment of International, Regional, or Domestic Laws that safeguard human rights and fundamental freedoms and ensure their enforcement.
5. Raise Public Awareness of Human Rights Issues, democracy, and the rule of law.
6. Foster Democratic Life within societies that practice political pluralism and uphold freedom of opinion and expression.
7. Mobilize and Consolidate International Support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Programs of the Union for Justice

1. Legal Support Program
Provides free legal and human rights services to prisoners, detainees, and their families, following up on issues related to torture, legal proceedings, regular visits, and legal rights counseling.
2. Research and Documentation Program
Documents all statistics and violations affecting prisoners, detainees, and their families; publishes reports and studies on torture during arrest and investigation; and examines detention conditions in holding centers, prisons, and jails, as well as violations committed against prisoners and detainees by the Israeli Prison Service and its special units.
3. Advocacy and Campaigns Program
Through this program, the Union for Justice Foundation conducts local, regional, and international solidarity and advocacy campaigns opposing torture and arbitrary detention, supporting and demanding freedom for prisoners, and assisting them through various means.
4. Awareness and Training Program
The Union for Justice Foundation holds public meetings and awareness-raising activities on the rights of prisoners, detainees, and their families. Through various initiatives, the Foundation empowers youth to promote and protect human rights. It also organizes specialized training courses for trainee lawyers, legal researchers, and those involved in defending prisoners and detainees before occupation military courts and international tribunals.
