“Union for Justice”: The Occupation Killed (117) Palestinians Last August, the Majority from the Gaza Strip

The “Union for Justice Foundation” stated that the Israeli occupation forces killed (117) Palestinians last August, (111) in the Gaza Strip and (6) in the West Bank, including (15 children) and (10 women).
The foundation explained in its monthly report that the number of Palestinian martyrs has risen since the beginning of the current year to (1050), pointing to the martyrdom of (128) citizens in January, (106) in February, and (106) in March.
Meanwhile, (137) citizens were martyred in April, (143) in May, (134) in June, and (179) in July.
“Union for Justice” noted that these figures do not include the bodies that are recovered from under the rubble months after their martyrdom in the Gaza Strip.
It added: “The occupation state continues to violate the ceasefire reached last October 11 under international sponsorship, through continuous bombardment of the Strip with warplanes, drones, tank artillery, and sniper bullets. The number of martyrs since that date has reached 1,326, while the number of injured reached more than 4,398, and 815 bodies were recovered from under the rubble.”
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinian martyrs from October 7, 2023, until the end of last August reached (73,462) martyrs and more than (174) thousand wounded, while hundreds of bodies remain under the rubble and destroyed buildings.
Kites and Warplanes
The “Union for Justice Foundation” emphasizes that the escalating Israeli aggression against Palestinians—whether through continuous massacres in Gaza or settler attacks, home demolitions, and land confiscation in the West Bank—serves partisan goals, with the approaching date of the Knesset elections scheduled for next October.
It pointed out that a number of members of the current Israeli government believe that reaching Israeli voters, especially extremists and members of hardline religious parties, requires displaying more violence against Palestinians.
“Union for Justice” warns that the extremist Israeli government is now searching for pretexts to continue its aggression against Gaza. In recent days, warplanes carried out several raids on Palestinian sites under the pretext of launching kites toward the envelope settlements near the Strip.
Unstoppable Killing in Gaza
During the past month, the Israeli army carried out many assassination operations of activists accused by the occupation of engaging in resisting the occupation and participating in the events of October 7. During these operations, dozens of civilians were killed, including children and women who were in displacement tents and residential apartments.
Israeli forces also killed a number of nurses, fishermen, and farmers while working in their health centers, in the Gaza Sea, and on their agricultural lands, in addition to targeting a number of young men riding motorcycles and electric bicycles working in the delivery profession.
During last August, the occupation continued operations of bombing and assassinating members and leaders of the Palestinian police apparatus in the Gaza Strip. “Union for Justice” recorded several targeting operations against police vehicles and their locations:
On the 13th of last month: Israeli planes assassinated the Police Director of Gaza Governorate, Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil (43 years old), after targeting a vehicle he was riding near the new port in the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City.
On August 19: Israeli planes bombed the Municipal Police Headquarters in central Gaza City, leading to the martyrdom of the new Police Director of Gaza Governorate, Ayman Mahmoud Jundiyya (47 years old), Director of Gaza Governorate Police Operations, Osama Hashem Al-Hajin (43 years old), and Director of the Women’s Police Department, Fatina Abdel Jabbar Al-Sahar (42 years old).
The foundation emphasizes that the occupation’s targeting of Palestinian police personnel, protecting collaborator gangs, and providing air cover for them aims to strike stability in the Gaza Strip, provoke chaos and security breakdown, and attempt to expand the areas where collaborators are present.
Return of Assassinations in the West Bank
In the West Bank, according to monitoring by “Union for Justice,” Israeli forces killed (6) citizens last month, including 3 who died in an assassination operation:
On the 28th of last month: An Israeli reconnaissance plane bombed an abandoned house in the Harsh Al-Saada area, west of Jenin City, leading to the martyrdom of three young men: Qais Ibrahim Al-Bitawi (22 years old), Basel Muhammad Turkman (26 years old), and Momen Muhammad Jaradat (22 years old).
Jenin: Occupation soldiers killed Fathi Zaidan Khazem (58 years old), the father of two martyrs, while he was inside his house in Jenin City.
Hebron: The youth Karim Sanad Shalalda (17 years old) was martyred by settlers’ bullets during a wide-scale attack launched on citizens’ homes in Khirbet Hamrosh in the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron.
Nablus: The child Islam Ahmad Ajouri (14 years old) from New Askar Camp was martyred after occupation soldiers shot him.
Martyrs of the Prisoner Movement
During last August, the Israeli Prison Service revealed that the prisoner Ihab Muhammad Abdel Qader Diab (36 years old) from the Gaza Strip was martyred inside its prisons in September of the year 2024, noting that he had been detained since December 12, 2023.
With the martyrdom of the prisoner Diab, the number of martyrs of the prisoner movement since 1967 rises to 328 martyrs, including 91 martyrs after October 7, among them 53 from the Gaza Strip.
The “Union for Justice Foundation” emphasizes that the Israeli occupation authorities practice and use killing and genocide, whether in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip, to serve political goals aimed at disrupting the demographic balance in historic Palestine and driving Palestinians to think about emigration under the weight of the continuation of the killing machine.
“Union for Justice” considers that the occupation state’s continuation in adopting this bloody policy would not have continued were it not for American and Western support, Arab and Islamic silence, and the absence of international accountability mechanisms for Israel for its continuous violations of human rights charters.
