Three Palestinian martyrs shot by settlers in the village of Abu Falah

The West Bank has witnessed in recent years a noticeable escalation in settlers’ attacks on Palestinians and their property, amid a complex political and security reality that exacerbates the suffering of the population and increases the intensity of tension in the region. These attacks vary between physical assaults on civilians, the destruction of property, the uprooting of trees, and assaults on agricultural lands, which leaves profound effects on the daily life of Palestinians and on the stability of local communities. These recurring incidents raise wide questions about their humanitarian and political repercussions, and their role in deepening the conflict and weakening the chances of stability in the Palestinian territories.

The village of Abu Falah, located northeast of the city of Ramallah in the West Bank, witnessed at dawn today, Sunday, 8 March 2026, a violent attack carried out by settlers, which resulted in the martyrdom of three Palestinians and the injury of others, according to what local and medical sources reported. Confrontations erupted after a group of settlers stormed the outskirts of the village and assaulted the homes and property of citizens, which led to a state of tension and chaos in the area.

A number of the villagers attempted to confront the attack, before events developed into confrontations that resulted in the fall of the three martyrs, in addition to damage to property and vehicles. Ambulance crews rushed to the place to transport the injured, while the village witnessed a state of anger and grief among the residents following the incident. This attack comes within the context of a series of repeated attacks to which Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank are subjected, amid warnings of the repercussions of the continuation of these attacks on the lives of civilians and the stability of the region.

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of two citizens by the bullets of settlers in the town of Abu Falah northeast of Ramallah, namely: Thaer Farouq Hamayel (24 years), and Fare’ Joudat Hamayel (57 years), indicating that their injuries were to the head. In the same context, local sources reported that doctors at “H Clinic” hospital in the city of Ramallah announced the martyrdom of the citizen Muhammad Hassan Marah (55 years) from the village of Abu Falah, as a result of inhaling tear gas in the village of Abu Falah, where he arrived at the hospital with his heart stopped, before his martyrdom was later announced, raising the number to three martyrs according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The sources confirmed that the settlers carried out the attack on the village of Abu Falah, before the Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Abu Falah to provide protection for them, where they fired toxic tear gas bombs in the area, which caused a number of cases of suffocation.

The Union for Justice warns of the bloody escalation of settlers’ attacks in the West Bank, targeting trees, stones, and people, in a Zionist policy aimed at displacing the Palestinian people from their land, which necessitates urgent international intervention to limit settlers’ attacks in the West Bank.

End.
