Union for Justice: Occupation bulldozers demolished (84) structures in the West Bank last month
4/12/2025 – Union for Justice Foundation
The “Union for Justice Foundation” stated that the Israeli authorities, through continuing the demolition of Palestinian structures, seek to implement a set of political and demographic objectives, despite claiming that the demolitions are carried out for administrative and security reasons.
The Foundation explained that the occupation authorities, although they announced the freezing of the “plan to annex the West Bank and impose sovereignty over it” on paper, nevertheless continue to implement this plan on the ground in a gradual manner through a set of measures, foremost among them the demolition of Palestinian structures, alongside land confiscation and the expansion of settlements.
The “Union for Justice” indicates that the occupation authorities, through demolition, seek to confine and concentrate Palestinians in specific areas to facilitate control over them, and to create new spaces to expand settlements and establish buffer zones separating these settlements from Palestinian communities.
Emphasizing that the Israeli government no longer differentiates, through the demolition of Palestinian structures, between areas classified as “C,” “B,” or even “A.”
According to the monitoring of the “Union for Justice Foundation,” the occupation authorities carried out more than (36) demolition operations during last November in various areas of the West Bank, resulting in the destruction of (84) structures.
Regarding the nature of the structures targeted by demolition operations, the Foundation clarified that the majority were inhabited homes belonging to Palestinian citizens, ranging from a single room to multi-storey buildings, in addition to tin dwellings for Bedouins, barracks, agricultural rooms, sheep pens, water wells, commercial shops, showrooms, car washes, and a public park.
Settlers also demolish
For the first time, the “Union for Justice” records settlers entering the arena of demolishing Palestinian structures, a role that was previously exclusive to occupation soldiers who carried out demolition orders after their issuance by the so-called “military commander of the area.”
On the sixth of last November, settlers brought a bulldozer and demolished four barracks “mobile homes” belonging to citizens in the Al-Hathroura Bedouin community east of occupied Jerusalem. On the twenty-eighth of the same month, settlers from the “Susiya” settlement raided Khirbet Wadi Al-Rakhim in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, and began demolishing a house under construction using manual tools.
Demolition causes massive economic losses
In addition to the displacement of dozens of citizens from their places of residence, and the accompanying psychological harm inflicted on families who have become without shelter, demolition operations result in significant economic damage, especially when commercial structures are targeted.
Economic losses are not limited to the structure itself, the construction of which is costly in the West Bank, but also extend to other repercussions borne by the owner of the structure, particularly if it includes a commercial enterprise that constitutes their sole source of income.
For example, occupation bulldozers demolished last month a chicken-rearing barracks in the village of Umm Al-Rihan west of Jenin, with an area of one thousand square meters. During the demolition, the occupation executed more than 7,000 chickens, and the losses of the farm owner were estimated at more than 500,000 shekels (approximately 150,000 dollars).
Occupation bulldozers also demolished 6 commercial structures comprising 20 commercial shops, owned by the Al-Mahdi, Al-Zagharna, and Al-Jama’in families in the Anab Al-Kabira area on the road linking the towns of Al-Ramadin and Al-Dhahiriya south of Hebron, with the losses of the owners estimated at hundreds of thousands of shekels.
Demolition in Jerusalem… suffering of a different kind
According to the “Union for Justice,” the occupation authorities carried out during the past month (12) demolition operations in the city of Jerusalem alone under the pretext of lack of permits, including cases in which citizens were forced to demolish their homes themselves to avoid paying exorbitant fines imposed on the owner if Israeli bulldozers carried out the demolition.
The occupation municipality in Jerusalem refuses to grant Palestinians building permits, a measure that contravenes international laws and humanitarian conventions that guarantee the right to housing, within the framework of the occupation’s systematic practices to forcibly displace Palestinians from the city of Jerusalem, in exchange for expanding settlements in the city and its surroundings.
According to official statistics, the rate of Israeli approvals for Palestinian building permit applications did not exceed 2%, and Palestinians are not permitted to build on more than 13% of the area of occupied East Jerusalem.

Continued destruction of Jenin Camp
During the past month, occupation bulldozers resumed large-scale demolition operations in Jenin Camp and issued a decision to demolish 24 buildings in the Abdullah Azzam neighborhood west of the camp, including 12 homes that will be demolished entirely.
The occupation had demolished, destroyed, and burned more than 1,600 homes fully and partially in the camp since the beginning of the operation announced by the occupation on 21 January of last year, leading to the displacement of 22,000 residents of the camp to towns and villages of the governorate and a number of neighborhoods in the city of Jenin.
