The Occupation Maintains a Constant Pace of Killing
“Union for Justice Foundation”: (117) Palestinians Martyred Last September, Most of Them from the Gaza Strip
2/10/2026 – Union for Justice Foundation
The Union for Justice Foundation said that Israeli forces killed (117) Palestinians last September, including (106) in the Gaza Strip, (10) in the West Bank, and one in the areas occupied in 1948, including (18 children) and (19 women).
The Foundation explained in its monthly report that the number of Palestinian martyrs has risen since the beginning of this year to (1,167), noting that (128) citizens were martyred in January, (106) in February, and (106) in March.
Meanwhile, (137) citizens were martyred in April, (143) in May, (134) in June, (179) in July, and (117) in August/September last month.
The Union for Justice Foundation noted that these figures do not include the bodies recovered from under the rubble months after their martyrdom in the Gaza Strip.
The Union for Justice Foundation emphasizes that the occupation forces are maintaining an almost constant pace of killing Palestinians, at an average of four martyrs per day, expressing its concern that the martyrs may become merely numbers in the records of international institutions or in the coverage of global and Arab media.
It added: “The occupying state continues to violate the ceasefire reached on October 11 last year under international sponsorship, through continued bombardment of the Strip by warplanes, drones, tank shells, and sniper fire. The number of martyrs since that date has reached 1,439, while the number of injured has exceeded 5,052, and 834 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble.”
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinian martyrs from October 7, 2023, until the end of last September reached (74,040), with more than (175,000) injured, while thousands of bodies remain under the rubble and in destroyed buildings.
The Union for Justice Foundation emphasizes that the escalating Israeli aggression against Palestinians, whether through the ongoing massacres in Gaza or settlers’ attacks, home demolitions, and land confiscation in the West Bank, serves partisan objectives, as the date of the Knesset elections, scheduled to be held at the end of this October, approaches.
It pointed out that a number of members of the current Israeli government believe that securing the votes of Israeli voters, particularly extremists and members of hardline religious parties, requires showing more violence against Palestinians.
The Union for Justice Foundation warns that the extremist Israeli government has now begun seeking pretexts to continue and expand its aggression against Gaza, as the military establishment recently claimed that Palestinian factions in Gaza intended to carry out operations to abduct Israeli soldiers.
According to “Liron Batito,” the commander of the Israeli army division responsible for the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army now controls 63% of the Strip’s area and has established approximately 40 new advanced military positions, covering an area 10% larger than what was stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.
Continued Targeting of Police and Civil Defense Personnel
During the past month, the Israeli army carried out many assassination operations in the Strip targeting activists whom the occupation accuses of being involved in resistance to the occupation and participating in the events of October 7. During these operations, dozens of civilians, including children and women, were killed while they were in displacement tents and residential apartments.
From time to time, the Israeli army issues press statements naming activists it has managed to assassinate in the Gaza Strip, on the grounds of their participation in the October 7 attacks.
During last September, the occupation continued its bombardment and assassination operations targeting members and commanders of the Palestinian police force in the Gaza Strip. The Union for Justice Foundation recorded several attacks targeting police vehicles and locations where they were present.
Several days ago, the General Directorate of Police in Gaza announced that Israeli aircraft targeted a police checkpoint in the vicinity of the Regional Area in Mawasi Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of Lieutenant Tamer Mahmoud Al-Hamaida (47), and the injury of another person.
The Foundation emphasizes that the occupation’s targeting of Palestinian police personnel, protecting gangs of collaborators, and providing them with air cover is aimed at undermining stability in the Gaza Strip, creating chaos and a state of insecurity and lawlessness, and attempting to expand the areas in which the collaborators are present.
During the month, the occupation forces also continued targeting civil defense crews, killing Yousef Salem after a bombardment targeted Halawa Camp in Jabalia al-Balad, northern Gaza Strip, and Sharif Shadi Labad after a bombardment targeted Third Street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.
Israeli aircraft also bombed journalist Mohammad Abdul Aziz Al-Najjar while he was carrying out his media work in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, bringing the number of journalist martyrs killed in the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip to 265.
Continued Killing in the West Bank
In the West Bank, according to the monitoring of the Union for Justice Foundation, Israeli forces killed (10) citizens last month, including a prisoner in the occupation’s prisons and another who was martyred by settlers’ gunfire.
The martyrs are Khalil Rasem Shehadeh (16) and Omar Mohammad Naji Al-Nassan (19), both from the village of Al-Mughayyir, Ramallah District. They were martyred by Israeli army gunfire during a settlers’ attack on the village.
Jerusalemite young man Ibrahim Al-Hindi (33) was also martyred by Israeli police gunfire near Damascus Gate in the center of Jerusalem, on the pretext that he was attempting to carry out a stabbing attack.
Young man Omar Mohammad Tubasi (20) was martyred during an attack carried out by settler gangs on the village of Hajja, Qalqilya District, bringing the number of Palestinians killed by settlers since the beginning of this year to (19).
Young man Mahmoud Mohammad Arabi Mohsen (34), from the town of Qabalan south of Nablus, was martyred on the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attack near the “Ma’oz Yehuda” settlement outpost near the town of Osrin, south of Nablus. Israeli special forces also killed young man Abdul Karim Mohammad Khader Suleiman (28), after surrounding and shelling his home in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army killed Ziad Mohammad Jaber (54) while he was inside his home in the city of Ramallah. Young man Sami Hassan Hussein Zweida (32), from the city of Jenin, was also martyred on the pretext that he attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at an Israeli army camp near Haddad Tourist Village, east of Jenin. Young man Mahmoud Mohammad Mahmoud Suleiman (29) was martyred during the Israeli forces’ raid on the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta, west of Ramallah.
Israeli killings in the West Bank and Gaza Strip were not limited to these areas, but also extended to Palestinians in the areas occupied in 1948. Israeli police killed young man Alaa Mohammad Mousa Mahamid from the city of Umm al-Fahm, on the pretext that he attempted to attack police officers, noting that, according to family sources, the young man suffered from psychological problems.
Martyrs of the Prisoners’ Movement
During last September, the Israeli Prison Service announced the martyrdom of prisoner Muataz Nizam Al-Atrash (21) from the city, noting that he had been under administrative detention for more than 11 months and had not been suffering from any health problems.
With the martyrdom of prisoner Al-Atrash, the number of martyrs of the prisoners’ movement since 1967 has risen to 329, including 92 martyrs since October 7, among them 53 from the Gaza Strip.
The Union for Justice Foundation emphasizes that the Israeli occupation authorities practice and employ killing and genocide, whether in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip, in service of political objectives aimed at disrupting the demographic balance in historic Palestine and pushing Palestinians to consider migration under the pressure of the continued killing machine.
The Union for Justice Foundation believes that the continuation by the occupying state of adopting this bloody policy would not have been possible without American and Western support, Arab and Islamic silence, and the absence of international accountability mechanisms for Israel over its continued violations of human rights conventions.
