Union for Justice: 26 Palestinian Martyrs Killed by Occupation Fire in the West Bank During July
4 August 2025 – Union for Justice Foundation
The Union for Justice Foundation stated that Israeli forces continue to pursue a policy of killing Palestinians—whether through individual assassinations, as occurs in the West Bank, or through mass killings, as takes place in the Gaza Strip with horrific massacres around the clock.
In its monthly report, the Foundation explained that the Israeli army and settler militias killed 26 Palestinian martyrs in the West Bank during July.
Among the martyrs were 8 children under the age of 18, in addition to a prisoner who became a martyr in Israeli prisons due to poor medical care, neglect, and torture.
Regarding the geographical distribution of the martyrs, the Foundation reported the following, 7 martyrs from Hebron Governorate, 6 martyrs from Jenin Governorate, 5 martyrs from Nablus Governorate, 3 martyrs from Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, 3 martyrs from Bethlehem Governorate, 1 martyr from Tulkarm Governorate, 1 martyr from Tubas Governorate.
The Union for Justice Foundation further warned of the growing daily attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinian villages and towns.
It noted that these assaults led to the martyrdom of four Palestinians: Martyr Mohammad Rizq Hussein al-Shalabi (23 years old), Martyr Saif al-Din Kamel Abdul Karim Muslat (23 years old), both from al-Mazra’a al-Sharqiya, Ramallah Governorate; Martyr Khamis Abdul Latif Ayad (40 years old), from Silwad, Ramallah Governorate; Martyr Oudah Mohammad Khalil al-Hathalin (31 years old), from Yatta, Hebron Governorate.
Release of the Settler Killer
The Union for Justice Foundation expressed its concern that settler attacks may become increasingly deadly and take on the character of mass killings in the West Bank—similar to the 1994 Ibrahimi Mosque massacre in Hebron, carried out by a settler, or the 2015 arson attack against the Dawabsheh family in the village of Duma, Nablus Governorate—particularly under the current extremist Israeli government that provides settlers with full material and moral protection.
The Foundation added: “The swift decision of the Israeli Magistrate’s Court to release settler Yinon Levy, suspected of shooting and killing the young martyr Oudah al-Hathalin in the village of Um al-Khair, is evidence that the judicial system in Israel has effectively become a protective umbrella for settlers.”
Last month witnessed a significant increase in settler assaults against Palestinian towns and villages. The Union for Justice Foundation documented more than 140 separate attacks and assaults during July alone.
Martyrs of the Prisoners’ Movement
During July, Samir Mohammad Youssef al-Rifa’i (53 years old), from the village of Rummana, Jenin Governorate, joined the ranks of the martyrs of the prisoners’ movement, after less than a week in detention following his arrest from his home.
According to human rights organizations, at least 75 detainees have been martyred in Israeli prisons since the beginning of the war on Gaza on 7 October 2023, including 46 martyrs from the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the occupation continues to conceal the identities of dozens of martyrs and withhold their bodies.
It is worth noting that the number of documented prisoner martyrs since 1967 has reached 310 martyrs, the most recent being Martyr Nasrallah.
Child Martyrs
The Union for Justice Foundation reported that during the past month, eight Palestinian children under the age of 18 were martyred, with the circumstances of their martyrdom resembling each other and the occupation’s recurring justification being the alleged throwing of stones at Israeli soldiers.
The child martyrs were:
– Amjad Nassar Awad Houshiya (15 years old), from Yatta, Hebron Governorate;
– Iyad Abdul-Mu’ti Iyad Shalakhti (12 years old), from Askar al-Qadim Refugee Camp, Nablus;
– Mohammad Khaled Hassan Mabrouk (14 years old), from Al-Ain Refugee Camp, Nablus;
– Amro Ali Qabha (14 years old), from Ya’bad, Jenin Governorate;
– Ibrahim Majed Ali Nasser (16 years old), from Qabatiya, Jenin Governorate;
– Ibrahim Imad Hamran (14 years old), from Arraba, Jenin Governorate;
– Ahmad Ali As’ad Salah (15 years old) and Mohammad Khaled Issa (17 years old), both from Al-Khader, Bethlehem Governorate.
Among those martyred last month were also: Samer Bassam al-Zugharnah (24 years old), from Al-Ramadin, Hebron Governorate, martyred after Israeli soldiers opened fire on him near the apartheid wall in Al-Dhahiriya, south of Hebron; Walid Hassan Saad Bdeir (61 years old), from Tulkarm Refugee Camp, martyred after being shot by occupation soldiers near the eastern entrance of Nur Shams Camp.
Assassinations East of Nablus
On 6 July 2025, in the village of Salem, Nablus Governorate, an Israeli special unit infiltrated the area, surrounded a house, and opened fire on those inside, leading to the martyrdom of: Wisam Ghassan Hassan Ishtayeh (37 years old), Qusai Nasser Mahmoud Nassar (23 years old).
On 8 July 2025, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of Ahmad Nafez Jibril al-‘Uwawi (19 years old), from Hebron, who succumbed to injuries sustained six months earlier during clashes with occupation forces in Bab al-Zawiya, central Hebron.
On 10 July 2025, the following were martyred: Ahmad Ali al-‘Amour (55 years old), from Rummana, Jenin Governorate, after being shot by soldiers who claimed he attempted a stabbing; Mahmoud Youssef Mohammad Abed (23 years old), from Halhoul, Hebron Governorate; Malek Ibrahim Abdul-Jabbar Salem (23 years old), from Bazariya, Nablus Governorate — both martyred after carrying out a stabbing and shooting operation near the “Etzion” settlement south of Bethlehem.
On 14 July 2025, Youssef Walid Sheikh Ibrahim (20 years old), from Kafr Ra’i, Jenin Governorate, was martyred near the “Dotan” military checkpoint close to Ya’bad, allegedly for attempting a shooting.
On 17 July 2025, Palestinian medical sources confirmed the martyrdom of Firas Ahmad Raja Sobh (47 years old), from Wadi al-Far’a, Tubas Governorate, just hours after his arrest from his home by Israeli forces.
On 25 July 2025, two Palestinians were martyred: Rabi’ Mohammad Youssef Taqatqa (31 years old), from Beit Fajjar, Bethlehem Governorate, after being shot by soldiers who claimed he attempted a stabbing; Wadi’ Mohammad Othman Samamrah (19 years old), from Al-Dhahiriya, Hebron Governorate, after being shot near the “Shima” settlement south of Hebron under similar allegations.
On 28 July 2025, Mohammad Samer Suleiman al-Jammal (27 years old), from Hebron, was martyred after occupation soldiers opened fire on him.
More than 60,000 martyrs in Gaza
The fall of martyrs in the West Bank comes in parallel with the massacres committed by the occupation around the clock in the Gaza Strip, where the number of martyrs has reached more than 60,839, with 149,588 injured.
The Union for Justice Foundation affirmed that the occupation continues to pose the primary and most serious threat to Palestinian lives, and that the occupying power persists, through its arbitrary practices, in violating numerous international conventions and laws related to the protection of human rights—foremost among them the right to life, the most fundamental of rights.
The Foundation further noted that it “views with grave concern the continuation and escalation of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, in the absence of any deterrence or accountability for the Israeli state, which systematically employs the direct killing of civilians.”
The Foundation called on all international parties and human rights bodies to exert pressure on the occupying power to enforce international law pertaining to the protection of civilians during times of war.
