“Union for Justice”: The occupation killed (137) Palestinians last April, the majority from the Gaza Strip
4/5/2026 – Union for Justice Foundation
The Union for Justice Foundation stated that Israeli occupation forces killed (137) Palestinians in April, (124) in the Gaza Strip and (13) in the West Bank, including (25 children) and (12 women).
In its monthly report, the foundation noted that April was the bloodiest month since the beginning of the current year, as (128) citizens were martyred in January, (106) in February, and (105) in March, bringing the total number of martyrs since the beginning of 2026 to (476).
It pointed out that these figures do not include martyrs whose bodies are recovered from the Gaza Strip months after their martyrdom, nor do they include other martyrs killed by Israeli forces in areas that remain under their control, which constitute approximately 60% of the Strip and are difficult for Palestinian medical teams to access.
The foundation added: “The occupying state continues to violate the ceasefire reached on October 11 under international sponsorship, through continuous bombardment of the Gaza Strip using warplanes, drones, tank artillery, and sniper fire. Since that date, the number of martyrs has reached 827, while the number of injured has exceeded 2,316, and 764 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble.”
Meanwhile, the number of Palestinian martyrs since October 7, 2023, until the end of last April has reached (72,607), with more than (172,419) injured, while thousands of bodies remain under the rubble and destroyed buildings.
The Union for Justice Foundation stressed that despite the ceasefire agreement, the occupying state still considers itself to have unrestricted freedom of action in the Gaza Strip and continues to carry out assassinations and direct killings of Palestinians on a daily basis, amid the absence of any meaningful role by the sponsoring and guarantor states, and growing international preoccupation with the war on Iran.
Targeting of police in Gaza
During April, the occupation continued bombing and assassinating members of the Palestinian police in the Gaza Strip. The Union for Justice documented several incidents targeting police vehicles and the areas where they were present, which led to the martyrdom of a number of police personnel.
During the past month, collaborator gangs affiliated with the occupation attempted to storm the eastern area of Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. However, residents confronted them and prevented their advance, prompting occupation forces to bomb civilians using drones, resulting in the martyrdom of ten people.
The foundation affirmed that the targeting of Palestinian police personnel, along with the protection of collaborator gangs and providing them with aerial cover, aims to undermine stability in the Gaza Strip, spread chaos and lawlessness, and expand the areas where collaborators operate.
Martyrs in the West Bank
In the West Bank, according to monitoring by the Union for Justice, Israeli forces killed (13) citizens last month: (5) from Ramallah and Al-Bireh, (3) from Hebron, one from Jerusalem, one from Nablus, one from Jenin, one from Qalqilya, and one from Tubas.
During April, (5) citizens were martyred in attacks carried out by settlers on Palestinian villages and towns. The martyrs are: Mohammad Majdi Al-Jaabari (16 years old) from Hebron, who was martyred while heading to school after being run over by a settler driving a vehicle belonging to the protection unit of one of the occupation government’s ministers.
Also martyred were Aws Hamdi Al-Naasan (14 years old) and Jihad Marzouq Abu Naeem (32 years old) from Al-Mughayyir in the Ramallah district, who were shot by settlers who opened fire toward a village school; and Odeh Atef Awawdeh (25 years old) from Deir Dibwan and Ali Majed Hamadneh (23 years old) from Deir Jarir, both in the Ramallah district.
The Union for Justice Foundation affirmed that Israeli occupation authorities systematically practice killing and genocide, whether in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip, in service of political objectives aimed at disrupting the demographic balance in historic Palestine and pushing Palestinians to consider migration under the pressure of ongoing violence.
The foundation further stated that the continuation of this bloody policy would not have been possible without American and Western support, Arab and Islamic silence, and the absence of international accountability mechanisms to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations of human rights conventions.
